Trebbio
At Fratelli del Vino, we are proud to be the exclusive importer and distributor of Trebbio extra virgin olive oils in the United States. Trebbio is the olive oil of the Corsini family, grown at Il Trebbio, their historic estate in the Mugello hills north of Florence, and farmed under strict biodynamic principles.
The estate
Il Trebbio sits on the outskirts of San Piero a Sieve, in the Mugello, in the hills north of Florence. Overlooking the estate, the castle of Il Trebbio was transformed from a feudal tower into the first Florentine Renaissance villa by Michelozzo Michelozzi, at the request of Cosimo de' Medici. Il Trebbio is a historic UNESCO World Heritage estate.
The olive groves lie at an average of 400 meters above sea level, and they hold centuries-old trees alongside young ones.
One family, over 900 years of responsible farming
That is how the Corsini family describe their story. Clemente and Gabriella Corsini and their children Lodovico, Niccolò and Dianora run Trebbio together, joined by head of operations Stefano Giannini and a young team with local roots in the Mugello.
In the family's own words: “TREBBIO is a family project, reviving a historic estate in Mugello/Tuscany, near Florence. Our innovative olive grove, farmed under strict biodynamic principles, yields exceptional produce with unique qualities. … As a family, we remain rooted in our Tuscan heritage while projecting innovatively into the future.”
The dream
“It started as a dream over 20 years ago as a project to preserve our heritage in Tuscany. The abandoned, pristine land of Il Trebbio became an opportunity to create something unique, to give back after a lifetime abroad and provide our family with roots in Mugello.”
Clemente Corsini
On the choice to farm biodynamically, Gabriella Corsini says: “To be honest it was the only way to go. I want to leave the land to my children in a better condition than how I found it.”
How they got here
Four years after the family became custodians of the estate, work began on planning the project's main feature: an experimental, biodynamic olive grove that combines traditional and modern planting patterns across seventy hectares. It now holds 30,000 new olive trees from more than fifteen Tuscan varieties, predominantly Leccino, Leccio del Corno, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Pendolino and Maurino.
The new terraced fields recreate and expand ancient groves that suffered a devastating frost in 1985, and hundreds of older surviving trees were replanted from across the property. Along the way the family discovered and reintroduced an indigenous, unique variety, which they named Dianora del Trebbio.
The grove is certified biodynamic by AgriBioDinamica. Every harvest is fully traceable and made only from early harvested olives, cold pressed directly after picking, then filtered and kept in stainless steel under inert gas, with each tank dedicated to a single variety.
Trebbio today
Trebbio's olive oil is on the shelves of specialty food shops across Europe, and its blends have been adopted by chefs in Italy and across Europe. Recent recognition includes Olive Grower of the Year in Gambero Rosso's Oli d'Italia 2026/27, a Gold Award at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition 2026 and 95/100 in Flos Olei 2027.
In the United States, Trebbio is available exclusively through Fratelli del Vino. We import four of their oils: the Peppery-Intense estate blend, 100% Leccino, 100% Frantoio and 100% Leccio del Corno. The October 2026 harvest arrives in early 2027.
