Tenuta Galvana Superiore

To us, Galvana is a producer that is focused on making quality wine the right way, no matter what. Their grapes are hand picked, and every wine in their offering is organic. The vineyard only covers 14 Hectacres, but is located on one of the most coveted hills in the Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC.

Make it

Established in 1974 Galvana is family owned, and reflects their respect for this territory and its unique wines.

This winery and their offering have a tightly curated selection, which is focused on elevating each of the DOP wines it produces.

Their excellence in tradition is complimented by their focus on innovation, sustainable practices, and passion for quality.

  • Pignoletto, Lambrusco Grasparossa, and Chardonnay

  • Galvan sits at 180 m (590 ft.) above sea level in the low rolling hills of Castlevetro di Modena. The soil consists mostly of sandy clays, which allow Lambrusco Grasparossa to produce higher-quality harvest, but with lower yields. This results in more distinct characteristics, and tannins. The climate is warm and temperate with significant rainfall throughout the year, even in the driest month.

  • Harvesting is done by hand in traditional wooden crates typically between August and mid-October. The wine making is a special mix of both artisanal processes which preserve the authenticity of this ancient wine.
